Smart Bins – Świętochłowice Becomes the First City in Silesia to Implement the Individual Waste Segregation System!
Residents of Świętochłowice – Let’s Take a Big Step Toward Ecology Together!
On November 12, 2024, an agreement was signed to implement the innovative Individual Waste Segregation System (SISO) in multi-family housing in Świętochłowice. This is a significant investment that will benefit both the environment and the everyday lives of residents.
Simple Rules for Everyone
Each household will receive a set of stickers with unique QR codes for the five main waste fractions: GLASS, PAPER, METAL/PLASTIC, BIO, and MIXED. These codes serve as the "key" to open the ELMO containers. To use them, simply stick the QR code onto a waste bag, hold it near the scanner, and once the lid opens automatically, place the bag inside. This ensures precise sorting, and both the quantity and type of waste are linked to each user. Anonymity is a thing of the past – making individual accountability for waste possible.
Clean and Secure
To improve residents’ quality of life, neighborhoods are becoming more modern and friendly. An additional benefit of implementing the T-Master system is the enhanced appearance and safety of common areas. CCTV cameras monitor the containers, allowing authorities to quickly identify unauthorized users who leave garbage near the bins.
Quality Control
Waste checks conducted under the SISO rollout will focus on the quality of segregation, not on what individuals throw away. No need to worry about being penalized! The goal is education and support, not punishment. Everyone benefits from better segregation – it's a step toward a more sustainable future.
Can the QR Stickers Run Out?
Absolutely not! New sets will always be provided upon request to the property manager.
Resident Training Sessions
All households included in the segregation system will be invited to training sessions—held in both morning and evening hours. Property managers will inform residents about the schedules.
Świętochłowice joins the growing list of cities implementing the T-Master system. Already, 5,574 households benefit from SISO across Poland!
According to a resident of Rumia, who lives on an estate using the Individual Waste Segregation System: "Sorting is really pleasant – the containers open automatically, inviting you to dispose of waste. They’re hygienic and look great."
“Every city in Poland should have containers like these,” says a resident of Ciechanów.
Together we can do more – be part of the change!
